malloytonight and accessibility

One very persistent issue throughout the web revival movement, as well as in most other online spaces, is the lack of accessibility. From the bright flashing images of the retro 90s-2000s aesthetics many old web adherents are trying to replicate, to the DIY inexperience of new webmasters creating pages that are unresponsive and unnavigable, there are many different issues that make the old web unusable for people with various disabilities.

I myself am almost entirely self-taught and would not consider myself an expert in making websites by any means, but I do know that I want to make the effort to make my site as accessible as I can. I will never put big bright flashing lights on my site, I try to make things readable, and I always design pages with mobile layouts in mind, but I'm still working on many other things. This page serves as a list of steps that I am trying to take and a to-do list of steps to take in the future ; furthermore, this page holds me accountable.

If you have any concerns about pressing accessiblity issues, or otherwise insight on the matter, please email me at wheresurmalloytonight@gmail.com !! I truly appreciate the feedback.
